List of favorites

A few of Lukas' favorite things...

Going outside, besides eating I think this on the top of the list.

Getting into EVERYTHING. I know... it's a boy thing. He loves to take everything out of the cupboards as fast as I can put them back in.

So I have not encouraged Lukas to watch much television. Most of the time the tv is not even on. But when we first get up and get going I like to turn it on for sound. Which usually means the news, The Price is Right or Regis and Kelly. So a while ago the Price is Right was on and Lukas freaked out. He started clapping and cheering. Needless to say this has become a bit of a ritual. He will not watch cartoons or even pay attention if the tv is on, but as soon as he hears the Price is Right he stops everything and cheers on the contestants!

Play dates with Emma. I don't know if he had a choice between eating, going outside or being with Emma, which one he would pick. (he loves Emma)

So Lukas has never been much of a nap taker. Even as a newborn he just never slept much during the day. Not that I am complaining because he has always slept through the night. But ever since Christmas the only way he would take a nap is if I would hold him. Then he would take like 2 hour nap. At first it was great, because now I had excuse to sit on the couch and sleep too! But after a week or so it got a little old. I like using nap time to maybe catch a shower or do some dishes or something else equally exciting :) So I tried letting him cry it out in his crib, and then he discovered that if he hit his head against his crib as hard as he could I would come get him. Which resulted in lots of bruises, so I finally gave up on the nap thing. So the last few days he has just been crashing in random places. Which I think is a miracle in and of itself, but the fact that he fell asleep while eating is miraculous! This kid does not let food go to waste, so it is amazing he fell asleep with food left on the tray! So I guess nap time is probably not on Lukas' list of favorite things, but it is defiantly on mine!
