I have not posted in forever and instead of trying to play catch up right now, just needed to post this little story.
I thought Lukas was going to be our wild child...pretty sure Maddie has him beat already. Yep we are in trouble.
So Sunday was our usual day of chaos, Joel got up went to the church to shovel walks, came home in time to shower and leave again for meetings. The kids were playing very well together, so I thought I could sneak up and shower. I put the gate up so Maddie couldn't come up and terrorize the upstairs like she usually does. As I am getting out of the shower Lukas comes up and shows me one of his trucks is broken and wants me to glue it. I asked how it happened and he said it fell on the floor. I then decided it was time to check on Miss Madalyn and I had not even hit the last step and see a trail of Fruit Loops (oops thought the pantry was locked) I continue in the kitchen only to discover a entire box of new Fruit Loops dumped all over the kitchen with a bucket of monster trucks and a bucket of cars over top. Maddie was in heaven eating and driving trucks over her mountain. I wanted to yell, but calmly locked her in the high chair and got Lukas to stay in the living room while I cleaned up. I put all of the trucks and cars in the sink to wash later (it was getting close to needing to leave for church) swept up what I could and vacuumed the rest. Lukas did manage to do a little dance number over top of the cereal before I could get it all. I get most of the mess cleaned up and decided the rest would have to wait until we get home. Took Maddie upstairs to get her dressed while Lukas played downstairs. Get myself and Maddie dressed and come downstairs to a soaked Lukas and a flooded kitchen with both sinks filled to the brim with suds and water. Lukas had taken an entire bottle of Dawn and gallons of water and was trying to clean his toys. Seriously...at this point I really want to call it a day instead of wrestling kids for three hours at church. But we made it to church on time and with smiles on our faces (it helped that we jammed out to a little MJ on the way).
