Valentine's Past and Present

Seven years ago my roommate Lorna and I decided to take our boyfriends at the time, on a unique Valentine's Day date. We packed some food and drove to Idaho Falls for a picnic. Granted it was February in Idaho and we nearly froze, but we had a good time. Then a few years later we met up again for Valentine's Day, we were both married by then(to the boys in the picture below from the Valentines picnic). We made this gourmet meal for the boys which consisted of ribs, salad, corn bread and potatoes. So this year we were able to get together with them again and we made the same yummy meal. The only thing different from the Valentine's Days in the past was...

KIDS!! This year we all sat down to eat this nice meal, and we started laughing because we were all feeding our kids, getting up and down to get them more of something, taking turns eating and entertaining and all the while trying to enjoy an adult conversation. What a difference seven years makes!

That sounds like fun! Kids do make things much more interesting:) I didn't know that was what you and Joel did for your first date. What a fun tradition to keep going-
